|Learning IT on Silver Infocomm Day 2011|
Most students may be spending their long break taking, well.. a break. However, for 110 students, they devoted 17-19 September taking care of 800 senior citizens who were in NYP for various Information Technology (IT) classes. These classes range from Basic Computing, to Social Networking, and even Blogging. There are 19 classes in total organised by IDA, and each cost $10 - a bargain if you ask us. So who conducts these classes? Well they are none other than senior citizens themselves :)
See the happy faces, and how some participants are intensely taking down notes.

If they wish, they could also sit in on IT talks conducted in the auditorium in the morning, and then participate in a Healthy Qigong session afterwards.
Our student volunteers also had a wonderful time with the senior citizens. They expressed their enjoyment of the event on Facebook and were glad to interact and bring a smile to the participants’ faces. Here are some of their comments:
Will there be another Silver Infocomm Day next year? Probably yes. Judging from the meaningful time our volunteers had, we’re sure they’ll turn up again next year!
